What we are aiming for

We want Coupono to work for everyone, including people using a screen reader, a keyboard on its own, or a screen zoomed well past 100%. That means building pages that behave properly with those tools rather than assuming everyone browses the same way.

We follow the WCAG guidelines as our reference and check pages as we build them. It is not perfect, and the section below is honest about where we currently fall short.

What we do

Practical things we do on every page:

• Write semantic HTML, and add ARIA only where the markup alone is not enough for a screen reader.
• Make every button, link, form and menu reachable and usable with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
• Give images real alt text that describes them, and mark decorative ones so screen readers skip them.
• Keep text and background contrast high enough to read in poor light or on a dim screen.
• Build layouts that hold up on small screens and when the page is zoomed in.
• Test with screen readers and auditing tools as part of the work, not once a year.

Where we fall short

Some parts of the site are not there yet. The ones we know about:

• Embedded third-party widgets we do not control, which may not be accessible.
• Older blog posts and shopper-submitted content written before we checked for this.
• A handful of interactive elements that still fall short of the guidelines. We know, and they are on the list.

We fix these as we find them. If you hit one that is not listed, tell us and it moves up the list.

Browsers and assistive tech

The site works best on a current version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge with your screen reader kept up to date. Older combinations often miss accessibility features the browser has since added.

Content from third parties

Some content on the site comes from other companies, and we cannot fix their code. We do raise it with them when something is broken, and we would rather hear about it from you than not know.
