From a small team

We actually check the coupons

We are not a giant operation, and we do not pretend to be. Coupono is run by a small team that would rather list a handful of codes that work than a wall of ones that do not. Coupons reach us from a lot of places, software gives them a first pass, and then a person actually looks before anything gets a badge. Here is how a code goes from our inbox to your checkout.

A person signs off on every badge/Re-checked on a schedule

Why bother, when most coupon sites do not?

Most of the codes floating around online are stale, fake, or ended last season. You paste one, you wait, and nothing happens. Being small is the point here. It means we can actually be picky about what we put in front of you.

Fewer codes, all checked

We would rather show you three codes that work than thirty that do not. We are a small team, and we read what we list.

We tell you when nothing works

An empty store page is more useful than one stuffed with expired junk to look busy. If nothing passes, we say so.

Real people, not just bots

Software helps us move faster, but a person has the final say on what gets a badge.

We keep checking

A code that worked last week gets re-tested, not trusted forever. When one stops working, it comes down.

Where they come from

Coupons reach us from all over

We do not just scrape one place. Codes come in from store newsletters we subscribe to, the official store and brand sites, merchants who send them to us directly, shoppers who submit ones they have found, and our own team. Wherever a code starts, it goes through the same path before it earns a badge.

The life of a coupon on Coupono

Not a wall of separate features. Just what happens to a single code, in order, from the moment it lands with us to the moment it stops working.

  1. 1

    It comes in

    A code reaches us

Codes arrive from store newsletters, the stores themselves, shoppers who submit them, and our own team digging them up. Plenty of them are already dead on arrival, which is the whole reason for the steps below.

  2. 2

    We test what we can

Software gives it a first pass

For around 70% of our stores, a testing system applies the code in a checkout and watches whether the price actually drops. If it does nothing, it does not get through. This handles the boring volume so people can spend time on the rest.

    FALL20: 20% off, kept OLD15: nothing, dropped
  3. 3

    A person checks it

Someone on the team takes a look

We confirm the code works, read the fine print software misses like minimum spend, excluded items and expiry, and tag it with the real discount. This is the part we still do by hand, and it is the part we care most about.

  4. 4

It goes live, or it does not

Only then does it get a badge

If it holds up, it goes on the store page with a Verified badge. If nothing for that store passes, we leave the codes off and tell you, rather than padding the page to look stocked.

  5. 5

    Shoppers keep it honest

    You tell us what happened

Every time you apply a code you can tell us whether it worked, and even attach a checkout screenshot that we moderate before it shows. Those votes nudge good codes up and failing ones down.

    We check again

    Nothing gets listed and forgotten

Codes get re-checked on a schedule, and the moment enough signals say one has stopped working, it drops down or comes off. A badge here is a current claim, not an old one.

Straight with you

Sometimes the honest answer is "nothing right now"

Plenty of sites fill an empty store page with expired junk so it looks full. We do not. When nothing currently passes our checks, you get a clear heads-up instead of a pile of dead codes, and we will still pull up any automatic deals worth a click. We think that is worth more than looking busy.

No working coupons right now

We did not find any codes that pass our checks for this store today. Check back soon, we re-test often.

What you will see on a verified coupon

Every verified offer shows its proof up front, so the best one is easy to spot at a glance.
